Family Stability Project
In 2013, United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona partnered with the Siemer Institute for Family Stability (SIFS) in a nation-wide movement addressing the issue of students’ learning being disrupted by financial crisis and homelessness. The goal of this project is to support families in financial crisis so their children can remain in the same school, giving them the best chance at receiving a quality education. The project creates change by addressing and resolving the issues that push families to the brink of homelessness.
United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona’s Financial Stability Partnership (FSP) is a collaborative consisting of representatives from non-profits, faith-based organizations and businesses, which works to increase the number of individuals and families in Southern Arizona that are financially stable and live above a sustainable income level. FSP works on a number of strategies to help individuals and families increase their income, build savings, and gain and sustain assets. FSP implements best and promising-practices to connect individuals and families with the resources they need to become more financially stable. FSP also funds programs throughout Pima County that offer services related to increasing financial stability.
