Management Biography
Michael Bianco-Splann
Michael is currently Vice President – District Manager with US Bank managing fourteen branch offices in the greater Tucson market from Casa Grande to the north and Green Valley in the south. As the executive officer with US Bank in southern Arizona, Michael has leadership authority managing and growing US Bank’s in-store banking franchise. He was recruited by US Bank for his present position and has built a reputation for leading high performance retail banking teams.
Prior to this appointment, Michael was Regional Sales Manager for In-Stores Metro New York managing 15 branches in the metropolitan New York City and Long Island market with Citizens Bank Financial group. While working with Citizens Bank, he held several strategic positions and was a principal architect in designing, building and installing successful in-store retail banking from New York to Boston. His banking career began in April 1999, joining Charter One Bank as the Divisional Sales Training Manager. Michael was instrumental in building the Divisional Retail Training department to support all training needs within the Eastern New York Division. Additionally, he worked in developing, installing and consulting the various components of the Charter One sales culture including training, coaching and leading in all levels of the organization. Michael has consistently been awarded for Top Performance for his sales results both with Charter One and Citizens bank.
Michael’s professional experience spans four industries, including; Airlines, Telecommunications, Healthcare and Financial Services. Michael’s concentration of professional energies has focused on developing, training, managing, and building organizational competencies in the areas of sales and service throughout his career. His expertise in training and performance consulting commenced with his work within Eastern Airlines. During his ten years within the Airline industry, Michael was rapidly promoted from Flight Attendant to In-flight Training Specialist, eventually managing a significant operation in the New York City area. Relocating to the Albany Capital district in 1989, his career path brought him to the NYNEX Corp (now Verizon), where he worked in a variety of customer service and sales positions. His extensive background in sales and service afforded him advancement through various management positions, including managing call centers, training departments and in various project management related capacities. Prior to joining Charter One Bank, Michael worked as the Manager of Customer Service outsourcing with Computer Science Corporation, Healthcare. He concurrently assumed the position of National Accounts Manager for a number of Medicaid Health Plan clients, managing all facets of account relationship and project management duties.
Michael’s Board positions include: Albany ProMusica from 2004-2007. He served on the Capital Repertory Theatre from 2005-2007.
Michael moved to the greater Tucson community in August 2010 with his wife, Janeen and son, Matthew who currently attends Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ.
