Volunteer With YLS
Volunteer with United Way’s Young Leaders Society

Making a positive impression in the lives of youth is possible with the Young Leaders Society. Volunteer your time and talents to help a local after-school program, the Kino and South Tucson's Youth Advisory Board. These youth are young community leaders that strive to improve their local surroundings through awareness programs and grounds and facilities improvements. After-school programs are the philanthropic focus of YLS, but volunteerism also extends to seniors at St. Luke's Home.
Volunteering benefits the youth:
- Structured and safe out-of-school time activities reduce the likelihood of at-risk behaviors for these youth.
- Positive adult role modeling can help these youth learn about their community, learn the proper ways to address conflict, explore post-secondary education options, and gain career awareness.
- Caring adults can provide youth with a safe social outlet for their emotions and increase.
Volunteering benefits YOU:
- Help mold young leaders and improve their quality of life to create a stronger and safer Tucson and southern Arizona.
- Develop your own leadership while teaching youth team-building and decision-making skills.
- Involve your whole family in the spirit of volunteerism and philanthropy.
In their current partnership with the Teen Advisory Board, Young Leaders Society members volunteer for “Serve” events including:
• National Night Out
• Neighborhood Clean-Ups
• Love of Reading
• Cookies with Seniors
