Millions of personal computers sit idly on desks and in homes everyday. What if each of the world's estimated 650 million PCs could be linked to focus on humanity's most pressing issues?
United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona has partnered with World Community Grid, an organization using technology to make a difference on problems that plague humanity. World Community Grid has established a grid of computers that, while idle, can be used to address global humanitarian issues, including natural disasters, hunger and disease research.
IBM Corporation, Rochester Institute of Technology, The University of Hong Kong, Questacon and other leaders in the world community have already partnered with World Community Grid.
Visit the World Community Grid's website to discover how your idle computer can help solve problems facing the world today. |
