Need Tax Help?

Have your Taxes Prepared for Free by VITA

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) provides free tax preparation for low- to moderate-income families and individuals throughout the Tucson area.

The VITA program allows families and individuals to receive every tax benefit available to them, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). You, or someone you know, may qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit, which can increase your refund by up to $4,716 depending on family size and earned income.

The VITA Program is a community initiative managed by the EITC Taskforce and facilitated by United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona. VITA is supported by Pima County, the City of Tucson, and more than 20 non-profit agencies.

For tax year 2006, the VITA program served over 3,400 families and brought $2.2 million in EITC refunds and $4.4 million in federal refunds back to the community.

United Way and the EITC Taskforce have developed 14 free tax preparation sites throughout Tucson.
