Valid picture identification

  • Taxpayer
  • Spouse (required for joint return only)
    NOTE: Married Filing Seperately returns will not be prepared at VITA sites.

Social Security card or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) documentation

  • Taxpayer
  • Spouse (required for joint return only)
  • Children and other household members

Tax documents

  • W-2 for each job held during tax year
  • 1099s and other documents relevant to income

Other requirements

  • Spouse must be present for signatures (for married filing joint returns)
  • Bank account and routing numbers (If you would like direct deposit)
