Grant Boosts Physical Education - The United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona obtained a three-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools this summer to promote physical fitness in schools. As part of the grant, students in grades three through six are expected to perform 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each week by playing modified sports, such as basketball and football, and dancing. ...[more] click here to read the full story from The Arizona Daily Star

Charity Navigator notified us our our outstanding rating, along with the following message: "Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization excels, as compared to other charities in America, in successfully managing the finances of your organization in an efficient and effective manner. This rise in your rating is an exceptional feat, especially given the economic challenges many charities have had to face in the last year."
