United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona is focused on improving conditions for children, families and seniors in our community and monitoring what government does at all levels.  At the local, state and national level, government has a large impact on the lives of those we care most about.  For over 20 years your United Way has been a leader across the nation in developing and acting on a strong public policy agenda.

United Way’s Public Policy Committee, chaired by Freddy Hershberger, an ex-state legislator, meets monthly to develop a Public Policy agenda, based on the input from our three impact areas.  United Way acts on that agenda through public education and lobbying as necessary to insure that the interests of children, families and seniors are addressed at all levels of government.
