Below are biographies of our distinguished speakers that appeared live at the Sunset Show Leadership Live Event on March 4, 2008:
Hon. Chev. Ronald A. Wilson, KTJ
Chief Magistrate
South Tucson City Court
South Tucson, Arizona
On March 3, 2002 at the age of 33, Judge Wilson was invested
as the Chief Magistrate for the City of South Tucson, Arizona.
This appointment was historically signifi cant because he
became the fi rst fulltime Judge for the City of South Tucson,
the youngest African-American judge in the Southwest and
the fi rst African-American Chief Magistrate in the history of
Pima County, Arizona (possibly all of Arizona).
Ron received his B.A. degree from Syracuse University in
1992 and his J.D. from Northeastern University School of
Law in 1995. He is an active member of the American Bar
Association, American Judges Association, the Poor Fellow
Soldiers of Christ and the Black Catholic Ministry for the
Diocese of Tucson.
In 1996, Judge Wilson was awarded the Otto Snowden
Community Fellowship by the Urban Law and Public Policy
Institute for his work in the area of crime prevention.
Since then, he has partnered with such organizations as
Harvard College, Princeton University, Brandeis University,
Georgetown University, the University of Arizona, the National
African-American Drug Policy Coalition, the Salvation Army,
the NAACP, the Urban League and Casey Family Programs to
name a few.
Amazingly, Judge Wilson is a product of the Massachusetts
foster care system. He has 22 adopted siblings and has had
over 400 foster brothers and sister.

Christine J. Olson (Formerly Toretti)
Chairman and CEO
S.W. Jack Drilling Company
A pioneer in many walks of life, Christine Olson is the Chairman
and CEO of the S. W. Jack Drilling Co., the largest privately-held
land-based drilling company in the United States. Her astute
business acumen, her ability to transcend gender-biases in
the workplace, and her reputation as a business turn-around
expert, make her a much sought-after advisor.
In addition, Christine serves on many non-profi t boards
including the NCAA Leadership Advisory Board, International
Medical Corps, and the Gettysburg Battlefi eld Museum
Foundation. Christine is the Founder and Chair of the Anne
Anstine Excellence in Public Service Series, a training program
designed to educate, empower and advance Republican
women. Christine is an active member of United Way’s
Tocqueville Society and was recently accepted to serve on the
United Way of America’s National Women’s Leadership Council.
Secretary Ridge so respected her leadership that ten years ago,
he appointed her to Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher
Education and subsequently adopted a plan she crafted to fund
investments in higher education in new and innovative ways.
If you were to ask Christine what her prime motivations are,
she would say they are two-fold. First, her commitment to
her three sons is paramount and she is compelled to political
activism because of her concern for their future. Second, she
has a deep commitment to women in great part because of the
experiences she encountered in the totally male-dominated oil
and gas industry.
Christine has a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia
and travels between homes in Arizona and Pennsylvania.
