Become a VITA Volunteer!

United Way's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) provides free, quality tax preparation services to local individuals and families, connecting them to a critical financial lifeline. For many of our clients, their tax refund is the biggest check they'll receive all year.

Last year, our team of more than 100 VITA volunteers dedicated their time and energy to help more than 3,000 Tucson households, bringing more than $3 million back to our community.

Hundreds of volunteers are needed to keep this program thriving, doing everything from greeting clients to managing VITA tax preparation sites. No previous experience preparing taxes is necessary to become an effective, impactful VITA volunteer! Attend an upcoming orientation to learn more!
